Frequently Asked Questions
Can Imbued be given the Embrace, ghouled or blood bound?
Imbued cannot be Embraced. Ever. Any attempt to do so will automatically fail and kill the Imbued. And after death, their souls cannot be caught by any Path of Necromancy either, as the Messengers simply won't allow them to become Wraiths.
In addition, Imbued cannot become Ghouls. They cannot even be Blood Bound to a vampire. Any attempt to feed them vitae will result in the Imbued’s gag reflect kicking in and vomiting the blood back up. Injecting it into their blood steam will simply result in the vitae dissipating into nothing.
Are Imbued affected by the paralysing pleasure of the Kiss?
Imbued with active Conviction are immune to the rush of pleasure usually brought about by the vampire’s bite on humans and even unshielded Imbued gain no such pleasure, only great (but not crippling or debilitating) pain and numbness spreading from the bite location.
What Disciplines are Imbued immune to whilst they have active Conviction?
Disciplines which act as emotional/mind-control, supernatural deception/fear, curses (brought about by blood magic) and body alteration will fail against an Imbued with their mental defences (eg: the Second Sight) active.
This includes Chimerstry (which look "fake" to the Imbued), Dementation, Dominate, Obfuscate, Melpominee, Daimonion Level Two and Four, Obtenebration Level Two, Visceratika Level One, Presence, Serpentis Level One and various Thaumaturgical Rituals/Paths that evoke curses.

Kindred Disciplines
Animalism
- Quell the Beast doesn't affect Imbued who have active Conviction
- Kindred on the edge of frenzy cannot use Drawing Out The Beast on Imbued with active Conviction

Auspex
- Kindred can use Auspex to see through Hide
- Whilst having active Conviction, Aura Perception shows Imbued auras as being unusually vivid and active. While using any of their Edges, their aura flares even brighter. Most often any use of Aura Perception reveals a nimbus or halo about an Imbued, much like medieval and Renaissance paintings of saints
- Monstrous targets of the Payback Edge show auras with human manifestations intermingled with their normal auras
- Heightened Senses reveals the effects of the Vengeance Edge of Trail
- Telepathy only works on Imbued with active Conviction if they choose to allow it
- Certain Imbued Edges (such as Cleave, Lock, Insinuate, etc) can affect vampires using Psychic Projection

Daimonion
- Active Conviction renders Imbued immune to the use of Condemnation. They simply cannot have curses attached to them

Fortitude
- Fortitude can be used to soak damage caused by Edges which cause aggravated damage to Kindred (Cleave, Impact, Ravage, etc)

Mytherceria
- Aura Absorption can increase the difficulty in using scrying Edges on objects (such as Return)
- Active Conviction renders Imbued immune to the effects of Chanjelin Ward and Riddle Phantastique

Obeah
- The healing powers of Obeah (Panacea, Anaesthetic Touch, Corpore Sano, etc) can’t be used on Imbued who have active Conviction
- Imbued with active Conviction are immune to Peacemaker and Sheppard’s Watch
- The Ailing Spirit can’t be used to cleanse Imbued of Derangements caused by high Virtues (7 dots in primary Virtue) or by the imbuing (such as Waywards and Hermits), but it can be used to cleanse Imbued of Derangements brought about by other sources

Obtenebration
- Shroud of Night does not stop vision-enhancing powers like the Judgment edge Discern
- Edges such as Cleave, Ward, Ravage, etc, can still affect Kindred in Tenebrous Form

Quietus
- This Discipline's powers work against a Imbued with active defences. These powers are physical effects, not mental or emotional, and force of will doesn't stop them any more than will alone stops a Potence-strengthened punch. The sole exception is Quietus Level One.

Temporis
- Active Conviction renders Imbued immune to the effects of Internal Recursion, Lapse, etc. This immunity does not, however, transfer over to any objects the imbued are carrying (such as guns)

Thanatosis
- Active Conviction fights back against the effects of Putrefaction, Withering and Necrosis

Valeren
- As with Obeah, active Conviction renders Imbued immune to the effects of Anaesthetic Touch
- Active Conviction renders Imbued immune to Burning Touch

Vicissitude
- Kindred with Vicissitude can reshape Imbued, but the Imbued's Conviction fights back. The more conviction the Imbued has at the time of the fleshcrafting means the more their body resists the changed done to it
- The Second Sight does not pierce a disguise created by Malleable Visage, since that is a physical transformation
- Edges that accelerate healing, like Restore and Rejuvenate, do reverse the effects of Vicissitude, but the process takes longer

Imbued Edges
Vengeance
- Heightened Senses and Eyes of Chaos allow a vampire to see the effects of Trail and to pierce Smolder

Defence
- Ward does apply to vampires who are intangible
- Brand's effects remain visible to other vampires despite Mask of a Thousand Faces, Fleshcraft and the like

Judgement
- A vampire afflicted by Burden can change shape, but still can't move from the spot until the edge wears off
- Balance applies to all expenditures of vitae. This includes healing, raising attributes and the like, in addition to fuelling Disciplines

Innocence
- Illuminate works even on vampires in highly inhuman forms, including those created by Obtenebration Levels Four and Five, Protean Levels Four and Five and Vicissitude. A vampire on the scene can be detected, regardless of form

Redemption
- A vampire in non-human form can still be targeted by Insinuate if he can hear and understand the question in his human form
- Once a Imbued drains all health levels from a vampire, she can go on to drain blood points with Respire

Martyrdom
- Unlike the standard Imbued Second Sight, Witness does pierce disguises created with Vicissitude
- Ravage applies to any vampire the Imbued can see, regardless of the vampire's current form
- A vampire afflicted with Payback cannot escape the limitation through shapeshifting or other transformation; the edge's effects last the full duration and may keep the vampire from using some or all of her Disciplines, depending on the limitation imposed

Vision
- Sometimes Pinpoint can be used to discern Clan weaknesses, but it is often obscure and difficult for Imbued to understand compared to the typical banes of vampires (sunlight, fire, etc)

Deviance
- Reap can be used on Kindred
- Spiral affects vampires in astral form as well as those in physical proximity to the Imbued. In addition, the damage inflicted is aggravated

Solitude
- Use of Edict has an intense potential to send vampires into Rötschreck
- A vampire using Psychic Projection could fight with a Hermit using Transcend Edge in astral form

Divine
- Kindred suffer aggravated damage from use of Cremate

Corrupt
- Unless stated otherwise, damage inflicted by the Channel Edge is aggravated
